We can certainly help you with this. The practice wants our patients to have a stress-free experience and therefore offer a number of different payment options to help with the cost of dental care, including a 0% interest finance option and the Post House Dental Care plan, which also offers discounts on treatments.
If you wish to discuss these options, please contact us on 01932 731 207 to book a free consultation with our Practice Manager.
If you suffer a dental emergency such as trauma, toothache, bleeding or swelling, contact the practice ASAP. Our reception team are here to help and will be able to offer you an emergency appointment. Depending on the situation, our dentists may provide advice over the phone.
If you are suffering a dental emergency out of surgery hours, contact the NHS helpline on 111.
We see a number of nervous patients at the practice. Many of these patients have had a bad dental experience, which means they have developed a fear of visiting the dentist. Other people fear pain or have simply heard about negative experiences from friends and family. A fear of injections or even a certain smell or sounds can also leave patients feeling anxious.
Post House Dental provides a calm, friendly and reassuring atmosphere and our dentists provide a gentle, pain free experience. We can use numbing gels before local anaesthetic is given to ensure the process is less stressful. Our dentists also use a range of advanced apparatus, including lasers and microscopes.
Patients are always welcome to visit the practice to meet the team or have a look around before their appointment. The initial assessment will be an opportunity to consult with the dentist about any fears you may have. If you feel unable to have treatment carried out at the practice due to anxiety, we may look into referring you for sedation or other alternatives.
As a family friendly practice, we welcome patients of all ages. We advise children to start seeing a dentist regularly from 2 years of age. This enables children to become used to regular examinations and they are therefore less likely to develop a fear of dentistry in later life.
Many patients choose to bring children under the age of 2 along to their examinations, which is also a great way of introducing them to the dentist.
As the main causes of tooth loss are decay and gum disease, we concentrate on preventative care. This is about helping you to keep your mouth healthy, so that you keep your existing teeth for as long as possible, whilst preventing the need for dental treatment.
We offer maintenance plans to our patients, which involve interdental cleaning methods, advice on giving up smoking, oral care, diet etc. By adhering to the maintenance plans that our dentists, dental nurses and oral health educators offer, the oral health of patients will drastically improve. Patients gain a better knowledge of how to look after their teeth, therefore requiring less dental treatment in the future.
We advise all patients to visit us once every 6 months for routine visits to prevent any small problems getting bigger and potentially worse. Even patients without teeth can benefit enormously from regular dental visits, as appointments enable cancers and other mouth related illnesses to be identified and dealt with at an early stage.
