There’s nothing worse than losing a tooth or realising that your tooth is at risk of falling out, but the Post House Dental team are on hand to help. Thanks to our immediate dental implants, there’s no need for you to be left without a tooth for any longer than you need to.
Who Can Have an Immediate Dental Implant?
Immediate dental implants are often possible and we often recommend them to our patients. In order for an immediate implant to be possible, the bone around the tooth in question must be intact. Plus, the gum and the areas around the gum must be free from infection. If these two key conditions are met, it’s possible to go ahead with an immediate dental implant.
How Does an Immediate Dental Implant Work?
When we’re adding a dental implant, we start by extracting the tooth’s root. We then put the implant immediately into the socket. If this is done correctly, the dental implant will take and work well. Additionally, if the implant is secure we are also able to put the titanium post in place and add a temporary crown. This allows you to come to us with a failing tooth and leave with a brand new implant in place.
The temporary crown placed onto the immediate implants look very natural, which is great if you’re someone who worries about the appearance of their teeth. Plus, they are very secure. Temporary crowns will last until a permanent crown is put into place.
Have You Just Lost a Tooth?
If you have just lost a tooth, you will need to act quickly. Teeth can fall out for a number of different reasons, such as being knocked out during a sporting match. It may be possible to replace the tooth with an implant tooth straight away, though the quicker you act the better. Provided the surrounding bone is intact, then an immediate implant placement should still be possible.
Are You About to Lose a Tooth?
If you know you are about to lose a tooth, you should seek dental assistance. By doing so, we will be able to maximise the chances of an immediate implant being possible. We provide a range of dental treatments, including a consultation about immediate implants. We can assess the situation and provide helpful advice on the best course of action. We usually start with a 3D scan of the jaw bone.
What Are the Advantages of an Immediately Dental Implant?
There are a number of advantages of having an immediate dental implant, such as cutting down on the time you will be waiting for a new tooth. An immediate dental implant will also cut down on the number of times you need to visit us and in some cases, it can be financially more favourable.
